I am a figurative painter and I am told they have an abstract quality. I had a studio in London for many years in which students from London and abroad came and worked.

I became a member of the then Contemporary Portrait Society exhibiting yearly in their London gallery shows.

I visited the island of Hydra in Greece and was totally bewitched by it, no cars, transport by mules, donkeys and boats. No modern buildings and none allowed.

The light was quite unique and I had a studio there for ten wonderful years and produced a great deal of work. Painting really wonderful characters and much of the landscape, so many really incredible sunsets particularly over the sea. Every day was different I was never lost for material to paint and the inspiration remained with me all the time I was there.

Now that my rheumatoid arthritis has hit so hard I've had to totally rethink my way of working which is a great challenge.
