My work focuses mainly on using the raw materials of photography to produce a variety of images often examining current issues or topics. I use this cameraless photography to give my work an unusual appearance and cause viewers to contemplate them in more detail and see beauty where it is often overlooked. I have had my work exhibited in cafes in my local area of Worcestershire and have several exhibitions lined up for this coming year.

This image is a colour photogram. It is taken from a series taking an alternative look at 'the personal portrait'. I chose to depict the character, personality and ultimately private life of this woman by taking her bag and placing the contents in direct contact with the photographic paper in the darkroom. The result is a striking image showing just how much you can tell about a person without actually viewing their face as you would in the traditional portrait.

Taking a comical look at the governments '5 a day' initiative, I produced this Sunprint of broccoli. Created outdoors, the broccoli is placed into contact with the Sunprint paper for a period of time before being washed and left to dry. It is a simple yet intriguing method of camera less photography. The sun has drawn an outline of the broccoli as it would encourage it to grow as a plant.

This black and white photogram is from a series depicting everyday objects. An otherwise mundane and overlooked item, in this case a glass dish, takes on a whole new appearance and causes the viewer to take a moment to see the beauty in the things that surround us on a daily basis.

This image is a chemigram created in the darkroom by soaking the item of clothing in developer and then pressing it onto the photographic paper before leaving it to expose and dry in the light. The series looks at the common obsession with fashion with Barbie as the main focus. The crystals left behind on the surface of the paper by the chemicals add a tactile dimension to it.
